    2005 Tige 21I won't start help!!!

    Hi,
Just imported a Tige 21i boat with 50 hours to Australia. Battery was flat so I replaced it with a new one.
I Made sure wires connected correctly exactly the same as the old battery, this made the Dashboard switches work which include blower bilge lights ballast etc. And also the dashboard lights turn on except for the speedo and tacco.
However nothing on ignition when turning key. Also radio does not work. It appears that the boat may have a kill switch or similar.? or may have been winterized by previous owner, whatever that means?
Or has it just blown a fuse somewhere?
Please help with any solutions and if you can attach images also to help me locate the required fuse, kill switch etc that will be much appreciative, as I'm new to the Tige models...

    Thanks Neil.

Neil, Try checking the kill lanyard. It is the little toggle switch near the shifter. If it is off, all the lights and horn will work, but no gauges and it wont start. Also, if the wire going to this switch is disconnected, same results will occur.
I found this out when I cleaned up all the zip-ties and rats nest under my dash. I accidently pulled this wire from the connection. When I plugged it back in, bingo!
      Good luck.

Welcome to the site. sorry to hear you are having problems already. Some of the boats have a kil switch that require a lanyard. I'm not sure what year that started?

The other simple thing I can think of is to make sure the throttle lever is in the straight up neutral position. A lot of us have made that simple mistake before. Just jiggle it and make sure it is in the proper place.

Smarter people than I will be able to help you more, but I thought I would be able to get a few of the simple things out of the way as well as give your thread a bump.

          Neil,
Other thing could be the starter relay. Here's a picture of it. Its a little 1" cube on the bracket with the coil and can be removed and replace very easily. It should be a Hella 40 amp 12v relay. If you want to test it, just pry it open with a small flat blade screwdriver and plug ti back in. Then tap the top of the contacts to see if it kicks the starter.
Also, there is a breaker on this bracket as well. It's a 1/4" dia. red button. It may be tripped.

              Hi,
Thanks heaps for the suggestion. Checked the kill lanyard all ok and on. Also checked the rear wires and all are connected. All the lights work but the horn doesn't.
              Thanks

And it wont kick the starter? The horn is on a breaker as well... on the main panel. Take your drivers seat out and lay under the dash. Follow wires around and make sure there arent any extras hanging. Again, you can jumper the starter relay, or pry it open to see if it's corroded.

                  Hi,
Thanks. Did that also. Nothing corroded or hanging down. This boat is like brand new.
It presents like it has just come from the showroom.

Thanks for the suggestion. Lanyard is in place and Throttle definitely in neutral position.
                    Thanks

                      Hi Greensborough.
This boat is virtually brand new. Can't believe it's condition. Just can't get it to start.
                      Cheers

Make sure it's in neutral as well. If the neutral safety switch is activated (the boat is in gear) it won't do anything.
