    Direct drive exhaust parts

By chance, does anyone know who manufactures the exhaust flapper assembly on a 97 vintage Tige? Had a bad event and burned up a muffler and exhaust flapper assembly. Tige is working on it, but thought I would check with the community. The muffler is a Marine Products part, but they don't seem to make the flapper assembly. Thanks!

Buy a FAE I believe you remove the flappers to install them.

For FAE, the flappers are removed, but not the flange assembly. My assembly is burned up. Thanks for the input though. I really should buy the FAE.

Bummer. Can you swap out the old flappers for a set of new ones that are the same size. I would think they are some standard sizes.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I am heading down that route. If I end up going with different mufflers, I might as well change everything back from there. I am hoping Lee at Tige can find one in the storage container out back. Would like to keep the boat OEM looking. Function comes first though. The Canada Post strike is going to cause me some grief to get this thing running for July long weekend!

Last question on this....I have a pair of Centek Veratone Ski Mufflers coming for my boat. TIGE for some reason wraps their exhaust with carpet? I am assuming this is either done for esthetics or to get more sound dampening in the cockpit of the boat? As the new exhaust is bare, should I wrap them with carpet or is there something better which is water resistant and would likely perform better?
