    Air actuated drain systems

Hi guys, I'm hoping someone has some info on a the air actuated drain system of a Mercury MAG MPI Tow Sports engine. Got the boat out of the garage to run it on the hose and get it ready for the season. As soon as I would turn the water on, the air lines going to the sea pump would pressurize and the valve on the sea pump would open, causing water to flow right out the bottom of sea pump into the bilge area.

When I would add air to the system to drain water and relive the air pressure at the valve, water comes out with the air.

I've pulled the sea pump and will change impeller while I'm in there. Just trying to see if anyone has had any experience with these drain systems, my boat is a 2002 Calabria and forums like this for that boat are non-existent! Thanks for any help!

I am not familiar with these systems, but I asked a friend that is. He said right above where you hook the air pump there should be a pressure relief valve that you pull to release the pressure.
Edit: I just reread and you already knew that. Sorry, I'm no help.
