Get someone to help hold a tape measure and measure how far apart you want the bunks to rest on the hull, probably inboard or outboard of the chines, if your hull has them. Also watch out for underwater gear such as water intakes for engine and ballast and the paddlewheel. Then measure the bunks and adjust as necessary.

I assume you mounted them in the same position as the old ones? Were the old ones shaped at all? Sometimes, the bunks have a slight concave to them. My current trailer does not, but previous ones did.
