ballast system?!? and whatsup with taps2?

i have an '01 22i type r and i was stupid and didn't get the factory ballast option. so i've made my own with about 1500 lbs of fat sacs and weights and what not. its all easily mobile though. so my question is where and how much weight is used on a factory equipped ballast system that is filled. i mean i've tried front, mid, and rear weighting with the same results... washed wakes between up until about 26 mph. and personally i hate riding that fast and i know the factory system puts out a gorgeous wake at 23-34 mph. so what am i doing wrong still? also i was wondering what the difference is between the taps system my boat has and the taps2 system. i've never really checked out the new system and was just curious to know whats different and if i should convert mine. anyway thanks for the help i appreciate your time.

    TYPO'S!!!!

my bad... i didn't mean to say "23-34" i meant 23-24 and the word "between" when i was talking about the wakes being washed just go ahead and omit that one too. sorry bout the confusion

Try this post for the ballast. NICKYPOO seems to have it dailed in.

Try this post for the Taps vs. Taps2 question.

I have an 02 22I. I think we have the wake pretty dialed in, here is how we have it:
Back of the boat, a 550# sack in each corner storage area.
Front of the boat, 350# sack under each bow seat.
All of them are plumbed in with water puppy pumps(best feature, flip a switch to fill and empty). We always fill the front sacks until the seats start to lift. Ice chest in the bow walk way. The back sacks get filled all of the way when there are only a few people on board. Adjust them down as you add people. TAPS gets set on 4 to 5 depending on the number of people. We can fill everything all the way up with 12 people on board and it is a huge wake, but I need to put a shorter prop on to do this all of the time (boat doesn't like to hold speed).
        Give this a shot.
