I am wondering after shutting down for a while the Taps returns to the up/wakeboard position. I know this is normal, mine will sometimes then after another period of time start to engage as if trying to go to up/wakeboard, but it is already there. I have to turn the key on and off to stop this engagement. What's Up? What do I need to check or do? I am concerned that it will wear out the actuator or battery or something.

i had trouble with my taps before. it would come up automatically after like 5 minutes, but the motor would not stop running. i had to turn the batteries off for it to stop. i took it to the shop and they replaced the brain (computer) for the taps. has worked perfect since. sounds like you have the same type of malfunction.

I'm not concerned about the returning to Wakebaord/Up possition. It is after it has already returned that it is coming on again, just occasionally, but then it does not shut off. I need to turn the key on and hit hte switch. My dad always said "Stupid Hurts". He's yet to be proven wrong, but for some reason I keep trying.

I have a 04, my rocker switch (red taps switch) some times sticks.
Some times I will hear the motor running (even with the key in the off position)
I fixed the problem with a drop of turbine oil (this is an non conducting oil that is used on small electric motors, you can get it at any appliance store)Tige, it's a way of life!
