    Perfect Pass Issues

Guys, I bought a 2004 22v in late December, with a 5.7L MP 335hp. It ran well during the test drive, then took it to a mechanic to look over it and re-winterize - so I have not had it back on the water yet.

The seller warned me that the PP was not working. While idling, the screen backlight would come on, but no words appear, and it beeps every 5 or 10 seconds. Then while up on plane, the beeping stops. I remember that words would show up on the screen while driving around, but then when you cut it back to idle nothing shows up.

I have since taken a look at the servo, and the black dial is tight and hard to turn, but it will turn if I force it. Is that a tell sign the servo is shot? Or will it be completely frozen if shot? How much is a new servo?

I have not called PP yet, but I have heard on here that they have a good customer service department.

    Thanks, Cory

Sounds like low voltage or Master Module

The servo should go through a wind up procedure when you turn the key on and you can watch it, the screen should stay lit with display anytime the key is on , it is the most common failure.

Boat is at the upholstery shop now for new vinyl, so can test it. Can I just turn the key on to test it, or do I have to start the engine?

So the black wheel on the servo can be tight? I keep reading that it should be loose and easy to turn.

Since I have no idea, can anyone guess on how much a new servo costs? Are we talking $100, or $400, or what?

          Just key on, dont start.

          It should "turn freely"

          Servo runs $100.

The fact that your screen is messed up too makes me believe it someting else as well.

to check the servo by hand you mustt have the power off. with the key off the black knob on the servo should turn easy counterclockwise (loosen) it. then turn the key on and see if it will wind (tighten) itself
