    TAPS WOES

Just tried to fix a leaky actuator and managed to break the taps gauge solenoid. The guys at Bennett sent me a set of o-rings to fix the leak and told me how to change them out. My 2000 22i has the dual rams and the first one went o.k. When I got the second one ready to be pulled apart, I proceeded to do so and quickly relized that it was not the same as the first. My first clue was "snap" that was definitly something breaking. All I could do at that point was pull it apart to see what I had done. I found out that there is a solenoid in there that is the sensor for the gauge. It is connected to the top section of the actuator which in return is connected to the boat. The hydraulic fluid fitting is internal type, not the external type. This is where my question comes in. Does any one know if you can disconnect / reconnect this fitting from the outside or am I looking at pulling the gas tank to get to it from the inside. That would suck. My dealer here is slammed so I'll never get in in any sort of reasonable time. The guys at Bennett are super cool and have sent me all the replacement parts for free, they even paid for shipping, but even they are not sure about this. Before I take this thing completely apart I thought it would be a good idea to ask all the good poeple on this site if they have had any experience with this minor problem.

Where's Tige M.D. when we need him??
I had most of my system apart a few weeks ago trying to troubleshoot a problem (which ended up being the pump).
I believe the hydraulic line from the pump to the actuator is the flexible type. You should be able to unscrew the actuator from the transom then gently pull the line out through the hole where it can be disconnected.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be

Thanks. I feel better about it already, even if your not the Tige MD. Damn I miss that guy.
