    Home made light bar idea??

Should I buy or should I make?

There are a ton of light bars on the market, however they all have one thing in common. ALthough bright they suck power like theres no tomorrow. A light bar with 5 lights @55watts is around 5 amps per light for a total of 25 amps of power. And I've seen some bulbs as high as 70 watts.

On my last boat (22i) I had a Roswell 4 pod LED light bar. It wasn't super bright like hologen bulbs but pretty decent for what we needed it for, navagation on the water going back to the dock and/or pulling the boat out of the water for the night at the launch.

The Roswell 6 pod LED light bar is around $600. Also this light bar wont really fit that well on some towers because of the huge curves in the tower.

So i'm wondering if I should try and make my own?

6 bulbs at approx $20 (or better)
3 set of automotive driving lamps @ 15.00 ea
    2 clamps
1 chuck of pipe or aluminum tube

    Specifics to consider:
    - The bulbs have to be a narrow beam not flood,
    - bulbs ready need to be at least 3 watt but 4 would probably be better
    - I think a power coat would look good.

total cost $ 250 or less???

    What do you guys think??
