Rudder seal??

Was just woundering what sort of seal there is around the rudder to stop water entering the boat?
It has a grease nipple on the side so how mush grease should i squeeze into it, not wanting to damage the seal.
Any help is good help guys

That is to greas the rudder at the bushing.
I give mine a small amout once a year.

yes i did grease it but was asking what type of seal it was so i didnt damage it by pushing too much grease into it

I believe the seal is below the part you are asking about. On my boat the part with the grease fitting is just a bushing. So the grease cannot overpressures the seal.
