Two years ago I put in a Faria fuel flow meter, the instructions said to ensure it is installed after the fuel filter and mounted vertical. Well, my installer simply cut the fuel line by the fuel tank and installed it horizontal. Last lake trip the fuel flow meter failed and I ran out of fuel on the lake. I found that the transducer failed. You are suppose to be able to blow through the transducer and hear the wheel spin, well it did not spin so I think it got junk in it or wore premature from being mounted vertically. I bought a new transducer and want to install an inline fuel filter before the transducer. My GM Vortec is fuel injected and I guess you need a special type filter for a fuel injected engine. Anyone recommend an inline fuel filter for a 3/8 inch fuel line for a fuel injected engine?

Methu969,
Do you have the MP 6.0L in your 24V? Were you able to confirm this filter was acceptable?
I like the idea of the filter. I also like the filter you've chosesn becuase you can see into the housing for debris. Seems cheap and easy to do. I have considered doing it myself.
Does it help and add value?brose

I ended up with a Wix fuel filter for a corvette (fuel injected). I cut a few inches out of the fuel line, attached the fuel filter and then attached the Faria Fuel Monitor. I ran the boat in the driveway using a device to get water into the intake. I ran it for about 15 minutes with no issue. May be a different story on the lake when I am getting on the throttle, won't be back to lake for a few weeks. I am taking extra fuel line and connectors just in case I need to remove the filter.
The Faria fuel monitor in my boat lays horizontal even though they recommend a vertical installation, so it may have wore the shaft that hold the little spinner prematurely and it may not have been debris from the fuel, the shaft appears to be plastic.
here is what I used: http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlook...asp?Part=334822005 Tige 24v
