I understand that. Ford got out of the marine engine biz back in the 90's, so all the marine inboard and I/O's are GM blocks. The "Vortec" is just a combustion chamber design that GM developed in the early 90's. The Marinizers, such as Marine Power, Indmar, Volvo-Penta, Merc, PCM, ect, all use the same GM engines, but each will accessorize the engine on their own, before going on to the boat builder.
