    05 22V steering

I have an 05 22V,with suddenly stiff steering. Tige dealer is gone, and the only boat shop in the area didn't have a clue how much it would be, but his shop rate was $109 an hour. I read in another post the part number for the "new and improved" cable part number, but does anyone know what length I need? I've tried finding the length, or any number on the cable under the dash. Am I just not looking in the right place? Thanks!!

On my 21V I was advised that it took a 19' but in reality I could have gone with a 17' and been fine, the extra length wasn't much of a problem though just snaked it around to fit.

However, the number of the cable should be somewhere visible, can you see the cable where it runs to the rear of the boat in the engine compartment, maybe you can make out a number there. Otherwise I'd bet a 19', or 20' will work....good luck.

I ordered mine from a guy on this forum, don't remeber his username but it was Haney's Auto and Marine in Bakersfield, CA., really nice guy and very helpful. His email address is Service@automarinecare.com, and website is www.automarinecare.com Check him out I bet he can help
