I have an ignition sensor for my 01 21 V. Here is the link to merc page.

I ordered one from Carquest By searching the web I find differnt #. I need 18-5115 but some sites say it changed to 18-5116-1. That is what carquest got me an once installed with rotor installed the Rotor was going to hit the conductor. I could not change the way it sit in the distributor to make it work. I took it back and started searching the web. Everything I find on the web says it should be the correct one.
Has anyone else installed one??
New one,
The one I removed from my distributor is the lower left corner with the circuit board.
Here is also one that says it will work but doesn't have a circuit board but a metal plate?
At this point not sure what to do. The top picture is what I tried and could get it to work. There could be a chance that was a bad one. Suggetions??
