Fastest and better rough water : Tige 22V or 24V ?

    Which would be faster ?

    340HP 22v or 380 hp 24V?

Which would take Havasu's weekend chop better?

I cant answer the faster question but the rough water answer would be the 24V. I sold my 20V and went straight to the 05 24V. i did not want to have to buy another boat in 2 years again. Lake Havasu is not getting any less crowded. I went out on Havasu the Sunday of memorial day weekend. High winds, many large boats and the 24V was still being tossed around. Actually it was one of the roughest days I have been out. But definately glad I had the larger boat as many submerged boats that day. I have the 340 hp and think it is plenty as the boats are not built for speed.

I try to stay on the south side of the lake as getting to the bridge and the river seems like alot more chop.. We try to launch at Cattail Cove.

no matter what size boat your in, lakes get choppy, and you have to slow down. i have a 24v. we were at lake mojave on memorial weekend and that was the worst water i have boated in. the lake had 3-4 ft waves, white capping. i had to go very slow to get the best ride. if you go to fast you are just smashing into waves. im not one to try and tear my boat apart just to go a little faster. you have to be very carefull on windy days. there were so many boats that sank that weekend. i heard a couple tige's sank also. very sad. i would think that the 24v would ride a little better than the 22v in the chop.

i was told 35 boats sank at lake mead that weekend and 2 of those were 24v tige's. most of the boat came loose from their moorings and washed up on the beach/rocks brodside to the wind. ouch!
both boats will run between 46-49 mph. dependeng on the load, elevation, prop, water conditions, and your ability to drive.

Could a tige 22v or 24v be modifed to hit 55 mph?

          Could the hull take it?

Or would the splash be so bad it'd be like jet skiing?
