I need the inserts that threads into the tower on the e series tower. Mine got cross threaded and I tried to re-tap them but there is not enough there to re-tap. I went to a fastener store and they cannot find that type of insert with the allen key on top. Does anyone sell these or know what I can do to replace this insert?
I have found on a previous post that the insert has extrenal threads of 5/8" x 18 NFT.
Moving forward, I had to solve this myself as I was to a point of needed to set the tower up and mount some speakers.
For future reference. The bolts that clamp the tower joints are: 1.75" in length (2" work but need to be shortened) x 3/8" x 16 NCT. The insert that this bolt threads into (the insert is thread into the aluminum tower) has external threads of 5/8" x 18 NFT. If the insert ever threads out, I recommend a dab of red permanent Loc-Tite on it and a dab of Anti-Seize on all the other service bolts (the ones that need to be removed to lower tower.
