What kind of carburetor do I have? 1994 Tige

Can anyone confirm the stock carburetor for a 1994 Tige Model 2002 fslm with the 350 Magnum Tournament Ski engine? I think it might be a Webber, definitely 4 barrel. thanks.

Also, has anyone found it necessary to adjust your carburetor at high altitude, or swap out for smaller jets?

From your question and location sounds like you are thinking about Tahoe. With my old boat ( 97 Glastron w/5.7 volvo ) We would drop two jet sizes when going to Tahoe. With our Tige ( 04 22I ) we just change to a 4 blade prop, the ecm compensates well for the altitde.

originally called a carter afb 625cfm. then it was bought by edlebrock then bought by mercruiser. if the boat is going to stay at anything over 4000ft. then you should take it to a local shop and have them dial it in. if it is the once a year vacation then just have them adjust the mixture screws for you.

Not Tahoe, but a secret little lake (1.5 miles across, but glassy) 3 hours north of Sacramento. The carburetor has a "W" stamped on the back, with an underline. Does this mean Weber, or are we still thinking carter/edelbrock/mercruiser? I have a shop manual that lists both, but I can't yet tell from the scematics which one I've got.

Anyway, I am only going up there 2X a year max. I will probably try adjusting the air mixture screws. I have also changed out my prop from the stock 13X13 SS to an Acme 13X11.5

        Thanks for your input.

You are going to have to tell me which lake this is.... I have been to Bullards Bar (Not bad except for the red dirt) and Scott's Flat. Go to Shasta at least once a year, and that's fun, but Folsom just plain sucks. .... Every yahoo with a boat goes there.

Philbrook lake. If you like eating dirt for 10 miles to get there... go for it! I only go there because my father in law has a cabin to stay at. I'm not sure it would make sense for anyone else to go there since it's so far from lodging and civilization.

I think a better bet for you would be Lake Almanor, bigger and next to a town (Westwood). Never been there, though. Also, have you tried Whiskeytown lake west of Redding?

Carb is a Weber 4 barrel

I checked it against the manual I bought for Mercruiser 5.7 (Seloc) and it is definitely a Weber carb. And I didn't need to adjust the carb at all. Fired right up and ran smoothly. I changed out my prop from the standard 13X13 stainless job to an Acme 913 (13X10.5). Awesome prop for both sea level and altitude. My WOT at sea level is now 4800 and at 5000' is 4400-4500. Thanks to Bill Weeks at Acme for the dead-on recommendation.

Hope this post help anyone who may have the same question in the future.

              Later.

Help with tuning carb at 6500 altitude

I went to Big Bear Lake at 6500 FT altitude in southern CA. The boat ran horrible, I did'nt think before we left that altitude would effect it that much. I only go up a couple of times a year is there a fix? The boat is a 1995 22V open bow with the 260 HP 5.7 Mercruiser. I would appreciate all the help I can get. Scott
