    Oil Change

I am about to change the oil in my 2002 20v with the 6.2L Black Scorpion.

Just curious what brand and weight I should use. I have heard many different things. I purchased 20-50 w but now I am wondering if that will be ok. Any input would be great.

I can't answer that. I just wanted to say I have never seen a 20V with a 6.2. I bet that thing is awesome!

Yeah it has some power!! This boat was used by pro tige rider and they did not like the way the stock engine performed so they had the 6.2L installed.

I am going to say that you are probably fine with the 20-50 but, I am no expert. If you don't know you can always run straight 50w. I am sure that would be fine.

I have the same engine in my 20i, and the recommended oil is 25w40 marine grade, although that is hard to find and expensive. 20w40 or 20w50 works fine...marine grade.
          Ambivalent? Yes. Or Not.

Well I went to a big boat store today and got all the parts and fluids needed to do my service but when I got home I noticed that they give me a Mercury 25w-40 outboard oil. Will this be ok to run in a inboard boat?

25w-40 is what my dealer recommends and puts in all of their boats.

As long as it's 4-stroke motor oil and meets the API (i think) code.
