use of Mobil 1 synthetic transmission fluid in ZF 45 CW
I have a 2005 22i with a ZF 45 CW transmission. I'd like to use Mobil 1 synthetic transmission fluid thinking use the best fluid possible - less than 2 quarts to change it out. Any experience with trany fluids for the ZF would be appreciated.
Make sure yours has tranny fluid in it and not motor oil first. Mine has 30w motor oil. MarinePower told me that started putting motor oil in them to quiet them. If yours has tranny fluid the Mobil 1 should be o.k. But, it is probably overkill if you change it as often as you should.
