2001 21i Possible Fuel Pump Problem

I recently was out on the lake with my Tige running perfectly normal. All of a sudden it started it starting spuddering and trying to choke it self out. It also was making a popping noise. After turning the engine off, it would run perfect for a while and then start spuddering again. Eventually it would not even start. I was thinking possibly the fuel pump was going out. Any ideas???

Thats what I was thinking too. I dumped out the water/fuel separator and it was clean. No water. Does anyone know where the fuel pump is on a 01 21i?

Do a search for "Engine surging/losing power".

Although no "popping" was heard, mine kept stalling. A couple simple fixes got me running again.

was your boat getting up to temp? most of these engines have a system built in that will make them run like that if they are not cooling properly. in other words north of 175 degrees. Your boat should run around 150 degrees on a normal day. Specifically you may have an impeller issue or an obstruction in the intake tube. If the boat has been sitting a thermostat could be to blame. Espacially if it runs fine when it's cold. How warm is it getting?

I had a similar issue and it required a new fuel injector for one that had crapped out...
