    Cam sensor Fault

    2014 Tige RZR Raptor 400

Anyone have an issue with a engine code like this? Says its a cam sensor fault. Boat will run but the engine light and alarm will sound.

    Thanks

Can you post the SPN and FMI numbers of the code?IIRC the cam position sensors are in the front of the heads. There's one in each head(overhead cams).

You can turn the master switch on and off, then do a key on start/ then cycle off 5 times and should clear the code. Run some more and see if it comes back.

Pretty sure this code triggers when ECM sees conflicting inputs from the Cam sensor that is different from input from Crankshaft pos sensor....

I actually paid someone who was suppose to know where the sensor was and how to fix but he didn't. He just cleared the code. I put it in the water fault light and ding came on in less than a min. Good to know that is how you can clear a code tho.....

That is unfortunate. Does it only do it at high(er) RPMs or at idle as well??

Does it at both. I ran the boat for the first time after sitting a month maybe when the issue started. I continued to run the boat different speeds, idle up to15-20 mph, for 15-20 mins with the warning light and ding then the motor started to sputter. Putted back to ramp, cleared code put back in water and code came right back on. Gas issue?

Sounds like cam sensor needs replaced most likely. If new sensor doesn't solve it then it's likely an engine harness issue
