    Diducer

Hello all. I’m looking to replace my thru hull diducer on my 18 R23. Looks like there is a fair amount of sealant around the nut on the inside and I’m assuming between fiberglass and unit. Is the easiest way to break the nut free with a hammer and screwdriver and then tap out bottom through inside bilge? What and how should I use to seal it? Thanks!

I haven't done this so I have no personal knowledge, but I'd try a wrench or socket before I took a chisel/screwdriver to the nut. Clean off what you need to in order to get the wrench on the nut.

How come this job isn't warranty work for the dealer?

Leave the big plastic nut alone and just turn the old one. Walks right put. Sometimes takes a little effort to crack it loose. If you look there's two flats om the diducer so you can grab it with channel locks.

4200 or boat life seal. Just be sure to use something that doesn't have a permanent bond.

You may have to depin the plug of the new ducer to match the boat harness
