    Mushy shifter

Having difficulty getting my 2013 Z1 in and out of neutral.
It feels like the safety is not disengaging and sometimes it will not stop in neutral from reverse. Wondering if a new trottle box would solve this or is the trottle assembly just electronic sensors?

Guessing your 13 Z1 has a 343 PCM?? If so I'm fairly sure you have a digital throttle with mechanical shift made by Livorsi.

Livorsi is a pretty awesome company and will sometimes refurbish old assemblies. Give them a call directly. If they say yes just pull it and send it to them.

      Thanks for the advice
Yes 343pcm and it is mechanical shift and electrical throttle.
I have a quote for a throttle control asssembly. I think the part number is C3023. I don’t know if that includes the mechanical part by Livorsi.
I’ll ask about that if I can’t get mine refurbished. I haven’t looked behind the panel and I don’t know if there is an exposed linkage or a sealed box back there.

The potentiometer portion will be a sealed box and the mechanical portion is included in the outside. Ive sent one out before for refurbished and IF I recall it was a couple hundred bucks. I believe a complete assembly is around 800$ from Tige.

The one nice part is if Tige doesn't have one in stock Livorsi is still supporting their product and will build new complete units...at least thats what they said last time I talked to them on the phone

          Potentiometer. That helps.
Tige did say they could get the part in 3 weeks. I have a much clearer picture now.
          Thanks a million

            This is what I have

The shifter and throttle sensor look like two separate pieces.
Detached the trans cable and it seemed stiff. The shifter worked fine. Although the shifter did have some play back and forth when in neutral. Probably from pushing on a stiff trans cable. (I’ve had the boat less than a year) Going to replace the cable to see if that helps. Cheap and Easy.

Nice!! Shift cables can indeed go bad. Hopefully that fixes your problem!! Stoked to see you getting after it. Thats the point of the forums.

You mentioned some play. If the throttle jiggles back and forth a bit left to right and not fwd/rev then take that small hex/Allen head bolt out of the shifter at the pivot point. You will then need a small screwdriver or seal pick to take the black insert out. Under that is three bolts that loosen up and cause lateral play. You can just tighten them up but they will loosen up again. Its best to remove them one at a time, add loctite, then tighten everything back up.

Replacing the shift cable made a world of difference. It still has 3/4 inch play back and forth, but it is 99% better. Barring any surprises in the water it is fixed.
Here are the p/n for the old and new cables respectively
