The Walter V-drive does have a drain plug, but IMO, its easier to just disconnect the hose between the drive and impeller housing and drop it down into the bilge and let the water drain out. The cooler on the Walter is on the top, so with the boat out of the water, most of the water drains back out the raw water intake anyway. But a little will collect in the hose to the impeller pump.

Also a good idea to clear the hose into the trans cooler, which is downstream of the impeller. Debris gets caught up there.
