    2007 22Ve Speedometer calibration

A few weeks back I had a guest pulling me on my wakeboard. I told him to set 20mph, but the speed seemed extremely fast. When I got back in the boat and started driving, the speedometer was indicating around 30% slower than the actual speed of the boat and has been that way ever since.

Ive checked the paddle wheel and there’s nothing wrong with it as far as I can tell. The speedometer increases with boat speed, but is just way out of calibration.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to calibrate the speedometer or anything else obvious that could cause this?

Ive checked with the dealer, but they won’t help troubleshoot, and want me to bring it in.

Is this the actual Spedo or the PerfectPass? On my 22i there are two paddlewheels. One for the Speedo and one for the perfect pass.

I do not know of any means of consumer level calibration on a 2007. IIRC, they use a Murphy gauge. If the digital display and analog needle agree, id say the issue is the paddle wheel or the tri-ducer.

You might be able to upgrade to GPS by replacing the paddle wheel

There’s only 1 paddle wheel on the 2007 and it seems completely normal, with no wobble. Depth and water temperature both readout accurately.

I was looking at the nauticlaugic as the best option if it wasn’t something simple. I’ll give them a call. Thanks for the help.

GPS conversion only works if its the speed portion of the tri-ducer. If its the head, GPS will not resolve.
