    2001 2100v motor

Just picked up a 2001 2100v (350 Mag Mpi) and noticed a few things that i'd like to get your input on. Prop is Acme 1433 (14X14.25)
First it seems like the throttle cable may be sticking, When about 3/4 throttle the boat wants to take off like i would want it to but then RPMS come down some and back up. Also when coming out of full throttle it wants to surge back up to a higher RPM and then back down. Could this be the throttle cable or fuel pressure issue?
This is my first ski boat and i'm thinking the repitched prop is the reason for what sounds like the motor hitting the rev limiter at WOT. I've got a few other issues to work out on this boat as the gauges are random to work.

That issue sounds like the classic fuel boost pump problem. On top of the fuel filter you'll find an inline fuel pump thats failed or failing. Replace it and the surging will go away. Mercruiser PN #861155A3. Heres the link https://www.perfprotech.com/pump-***...product/186231. DO NOT BUY AFTERMARKET FUEL PUMPS.
Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...

Ever figure this out? I had an issue in mine that did something similar due to the Riders cruise (perfect pass). Had to disassemble the linkage to the servo motor because it was seized and causing the boat to have throttle issues. Also, I would bet money a ton of your wiring under the dash is loose. Mine was for years. Make sure the batteries are off when working under there. Only 12V but you will likely short something if you are unlucky like me. lol.

I'm not sure what the actual issue was but i fixed it somehow. I tightened every wire connection i could find. All guages, batteries, alternator. My belt was also loose and was slipping under load if it got wet. I'm not sure which one of these it was but it hasn't done it since i messed around with these things.

Good to know man... sometimes it is just a loose wire somewhere. Sucks trying to find the needle in a hay stack but beats paying a mechanic 80+ dollars an hour to do it... I have found a great belt for the 350 MAG/MPI that I like to run because our belts to get so wet back there... It is a Continental Elite part number 4060875... It has that gator back type pattern on the belt and help prevent slippage when wet. I used to have to put the other belt almost as tight as I could get it but I know that is not good for the belt/pulleys... Also worth mentioning is that I have not fixed my impeller pulley that is out of alignment so as soon as I throw on a new belt I shred some of the outside but once it is shredded all works fine. Plan to fix that this winter. I always thought it was an alternator pulley alignment issue but recently discovered that it is the impeller pulley.
