Hey guys I’m stumped on an idle issue at the moment and wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts.
2007 rz2 with the marine power 5.7L 360hp. Took it out of storage earlier this year and it ran great on the hose and ran great last year. Put it in and it is idling low and randomly dies at idle when cold. Once warmed up, it is better but every once in a while it still does it. If I advance the throttle in neutral and let it warm up old school way, it will run great, albeit still low. It runs awesome all other times, loaded or not, to WOT or not.
I have changed the fuel filter, cap and rotor, burned 3/4 of a tank and put fresh fuel in. Wires are two years old and perfect. Pulled a few plugs and they look great, two years old. No misfires at any rpm range. Fuel pressure is 50-55psi when it dies and holds it there when off, I put my timing light on it and it’s making spark when it dies. It sounds like a bad IAC on an older boat but this doesn’t have one.
Any thoughts before I drag it in to get scanned at the dealer? Thanks!
