Small SS cable attached to rudder linkage

Have a small stainless steel cable attached to the top of my rudder linkage that has come disconnected at other end.
I think it is a ground cable.
Does anyone know where the other end attaches?

Do you have an anode on the taps plate?

From what I recall you should have a few cables that tie together at the taps plate inside the boat. Rudder, steering cable mount, rudder box, swim step brackets.

Looks like the only thing left is a 3ft cable to the rudder box.
Bought the boat used.
Is it something I should replace? Is it for ground or corrosion prevention?

Corrosion prevention. IIRC it terminates at the ground bus bus bar. If you find a ring terminal on the bus har with nothing in then you know for sure. If you arent marina stored or in the marina much I wouldn't stress on it.
