Taps comes on when key is cut off???

I got the boat used and the taps didnt work. Traced it to the switch and the actuator. Replaced both of them and it works great when the key is on but as soon as I turn the key off the taps comes on and stays on until I turn the key back on. Any ideas what could be causing this?

It is probably wired backwards off the key switch. Trace the wires back to the key switch. I bet one wire is on the wrong side. once corrected and still doesn't work, pull both wire from key switch and put a jump wire between them. If it work there might be a problem with the key switch. Good luck

Nevermind. I figured it out. I guess the taps come up on it's own after the key is cut off, or at least mine does. I wish everything was this easy to fix!

If you have the electric system, then yes the Taps defaults to Wakeboard while its off.

I'm 99% sure the 05 was electric and therefore this is operating as designed like Zad stated. Do a search, there is a minor rewire to change this.

Yep it's all electric. It really doesn't bother me as long as it's doing what it's supposed to. I'm just glad to have it working. Thanks fellows.
