    Load and capacity plate missing

I bought my 02 21v used and it does not seem to have (what I think is required) a coast guard capacity plate. I dont even see a place where one used to be so I dont know if it even had one or where to look.
Does anybody else have a 02 21v that could tell me exactly where it is on their boat?
How could I go about getting one of these? Would I need to go thru Tige or a dealer?
    Thanks, Ray

That's the first sticker off every new boat I buy. 9 years boating and I have not yet needed it.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the plate is only required on boats 20 feet or less in length. Corrections welcomed.

I also heard it's not required for vessels over 20 feet.
          -but-
I just spotted one on mine between the engine cover hinges (when you lift the cover). I couldn't read it - so I'm not sure if it ever had anything on it.

The reg requires a capacity plate if the boat is less than 20 feet. Here is the verbiage from Coast Guard Auxillary site

            Capacity Plate Clarity

A Capacity Plate is only required on monohull boats less than 20 feet in length (except sail boats, canoes, kayaks and inflatable boats) for which construction began on or after 01NOV72. This is a Federal Requirement. The capacity information is to be supplied by the boat manufacturer. Also, it must be posted so it is visible by all passengers. More info below on this page.
            Let it be!!!

It has been a long time since I took the az g&f boater safety course!
I had a boat that was 18' at the time and remember them showing a picture of a overloaded boat and saying something about maximum horsepower, weight and persons capacity label. I do believe you do have to have enough seating area for all people to be sitting down when on plane and enough lifevests and a throwable for everyone aboard. Will try to look it up sometime.
So what is the maximum persons for a 21v anyone know?
I would guess 11 based on seating area and cup holders!
