    Tower upgrade?

I'm new to the forum and have some questions. I am currently looking at a couple of used Tige 2100v. One is a 2000 and one is a 2001 model. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to upgrade the tower to what i beleive is called an E-series tower found on the newer VE boats? As much as i would love to be able to afford a newer boat, It's just not an option, so i would like to at least spruce up an older boat to a newer look. May also add a custom wrap if affordadable enough. If anyone has added some upgrades to older boats please post some pics. Thanks in advance. Glenn

Check out the prices to upgrade the tower (1500 to 4000+)in addition to the expense of the wrap which is not cheap and put that with the money you will be spending on an older boat and you might just get your newer boat.

An "E" series for a Z1 (same 100" beam) may fit, but I would check out a tower from someone like Samson also. www.samsonsports.com

I got a really clean 98 2200v for 17k. Had 300 hrs on it. I put pp on it for 1000, an acme prop for about 500 or so and just ordered a pimped out Samson razor for it for another 4500. All of a sudden I have 23k into it. I kind of wish I had just bought a 2005 with everything already on it for 25k. Tons of great deals out there on newish models.

Ps. Go to the samson website and look at the tige section in the gallery. Lots of older models with new towers

I have a 1999 21v that I just put a 2005 24v tower on, I believe it is the e-tower. I had to drill two new holes for the back supports (one on each side) and other than that fit perfectly. I bought the bimini and tower for $800 and ended up selling my old metcraft tower for $400. In the end it was the best $400 dollars ever spent on the boat. I'll attatch some before and after pics.

                        Dunker,
Tower looks sweet, where were you able to find that older tower?

                          tktige,
Sorry for the slow response. I got the tower from a guy up north, I did a web search for 2005 tige tower and it came up as an expired ebay auction from months before, so I contacted the guy and he had not sold it yet. Also if you find a tower far away you would be suprised at how cheap it is to ship halfway across the country, I think it was only like $150 to ship the tower and bimini.

I totaled my stock E- Series tower under a carport and went with Sampson Spors Razor Tower. After I added a bunch of options it was not in-expensive but I think worth the difference vs. replacing my E-Series with another E- Series.

Check out their site and view the Gallery for Tige models.

THe Razor is easy for 1 person to lower and depending on how in shape they are in can be put up with 1 person. I do it every boating weekend at leats twice. lower and raise for out/in of garage.
