Motor stuck

So, if you guys happened to see my post a few weeks ago about the impeller being toast, now I have what seems to be a much bigger problem

So, I installed a new impeller housing and impeller since the old ones were toast. Put the boat in the water after I finished the job, and tried to start the boat.
All that happened was kind of a thunk, motor didn't turn over. Tried again, same result. I don't think it is a battery issue, since it was only about 3 weeks ago that we took the boat on the lake to discover it was overheating after about 10 minutes from taking it off the trailer. Saw the temp guage showing around 250 after I smelled the motor heating up.
What are yall's thoughts? Engine seized? How screwed am I?...
Anybody have preferences on repair shops in or near OKC or Lake Thunderbird, or is this something that I could do myself? I have no experience with engine internals, but the water impeller wasn't hard, so if its not too difficult, I could probably tackle it.

Help please... not liking 2 lake days going sour in a row...

I used to live in Stillwater and if you do not mind the drive I highly recommend Jerry's Boat Dock for your impending repairs. Jerry is a good old boy who shoots you straight and such. Really sorry to hear about all of the trouble with your new-to-me boat. Dont get discouraged. I run the 99 2100 and knock on wood it is my third and most reliable boat. I am a big believer in Tige product and hopefully after you can get the bugs worked out all will be great. Do you have bearing issues with the trailer?

Well guys, i tried to jump it this saturday. Turned the key, heard a thump, held the key turned, and it tried to turn over, but just made a loud clunk-clunk-clunk sound... didn't sound good, lost all hope
Do yall think it would be cheaper to try and rebuild, or just drop in a new motor? Because the way i look at it, what happens if they take all those hours to dismantle it, and find the block warped? Then it was a waste of a bunch of labor hours.
Regarding the trailer, here's what happened on the trip back: flat tire blowout (old crappy tires), then, right before i got home at like 1:30 am, i exited 35, took a VERY slow left turn at the light, and the freaking WHEEL comes off. was only able to find 1 lugnut, the others had worked loose and come off. thanks to some incredibly nice cops, they helped me get the tire back on, and i limped home a few miles at about 8 miles an hour.. so, i took the trailer to get fixed, and he replaced that one hub that the tire broke off, but i just dont know if i trust the trailer on any sort of long trip. PLUS, the freaking piece of wood on the inside of the left fender on the trailer rubs the inside sidewall of the tires. I rigged it so it stays back, but there's only about a half inch of clearance between wood/fender & tire, so on big bumps, it rubs.
Just not too happy right now. Need a new trailer and a fixed or new engine

ughh, That really sucks. I have never heard of a wheel coming off completely. Crazy stuff. I am not familiar with the cost benefit of dropping a new engine vs repairing what you have. If it is turning over though doesnt that suggest you don't have a warped block?

well, im definitely not an engine guru, but id imagine there are occurences of engine blocks warping but still able to be turned over. i just don't know the cost breakdown. has anybody replaced a motor?? if so, how much did it cost you?

I was on Mercury's website the other day and saw that a long block was about 6K. That was for a MAG MPI 350 tow sport engine

I can't find any prices on their website, how did you find the price?

I'd find yourself a remanufactured long block. Mine costed around $2600 delivered from Washington to MN. 300HP with a 7 year / 500 hour warranty. Took me and a buddy 12-13 hours to swap all the manifolds and bolt ons and get it running. It would have taken less time, but I mis-read a torque chart and had to remove the oil pan a couple extra times.

Installing it myself saved about $1200-1500.

How did you find that remanufactured long block? I just don't know of any reputable places to buy an engine.. That's a strong warranty. 12-13 hours is nothing, but I have no idea how to swap an engine..

Lucky you a buddy of mine is doing marine repairs now. Me and him just did my engine swap on my boat in his barn. But he has two shops that he does everyone else's boats out of. He's doing all the overhauls for Boat and RV world, H&H and a few other dealerships now. So you get the direct service w/o the additional cost they add on. He knows all boats.... but he's a tow boat owner himself... and he will take care of ur boat!
