    Motor stuck

So, if you guys happened to see my post a few weeks ago about the impeller being toast, now I have what seems to be a much bigger problem

So, I installed a new impeller housing and impeller since the old ones were toast. Put the boat in the water after I finished the job, and tried to start the boat.
All that happened was kind of a thunk, motor didn't turn over. Tried again, same result. I don't think it is a battery issue, since it was only about 3 weeks ago that we took the boat on the lake to discover it was overheating after about 10 minutes from taking it off the trailer. Saw the temp guage showing around 250 after I smelled the motor heating up.
What are yall's thoughts? Engine seized? How screwed am I?...
Anybody have preferences on repair shops in or near OKC or Lake Thunderbird, or is this something that I could do myself? I have no experience with engine internals, but the water impeller wasn't hard, so if its not too difficult, I could probably tackle it.

Help please... not liking 2 lake days going sour in a row...

Remove all the sparkplugs and turn it over by hand.
(Use a ratchets and a socket. Place the socket on the nut that is located at the center of the crank pulley)
This will give you a better idea what you are working with.
Let us know what you find out.

NEVER USE THE CRANK PULLEY NUT!!!!!! BAD BAD

The crank pulley nut is in the center. This is the strongest part of the engine that you can get to without removing the tyranny. (Which will give you access to the flywheel that the starter uses to start the engine)
The pistons are connected to the crank. The crack is the center for all the timing. Whit out the plugs in, you should be able to even turn it with the fan belts, but I would advise agents this as I have seen some people get there finger stuck between the belt and one of the pulleys. In extreme cases, you can even lose a finger.

that is not the strongest bolt on motor

you will use this technique once, when that bolt breaks, i have seen it more than once, you will know. Then motor needs to be pulled out

I do this for a living, just trying to help you non-gearheads out

i can turn motors all day over with plugs in and using the alternator belt

Well, since I just put the impeller in, I know that thing spins by hand. I didn't think to check the alternator though, so I suppose I'll loosen the belt and try to spin the alternator manually, and if that spins, I'll try crank next. How easily should the alternator spin?
So, if worst comes to worst, and the crank won't budge, what am I looking at?

If that 1 ¼ bolt (on my engine I need to use an 1 ¼ socket) is not the strongest bolt that I can be use to turn over the engine, then what is?

just do not use that bolt!!!

notice there is not just one bolt on the crank pulley

there is always 5 of them

if it was so strong, then why is there 5???

Wow that strange, my v8 only has one large bolt dead center!

But we can agree to disagree; I will never spin the motor and put my hand on the belt at the same time.
So you do it how you where trained, and I will do it as I was trained.

I do agree with you that if the pulley is mounted with multiple bolts or nuts like a water pump , not to use to rotate the engine as the offset angel will cause unnecessary force.

havent been back out to boat yet, hectic week at work. disregard that its 11:40 am, as im posting this. haha, but i'm going to go check it out saturday. see if i can turn it over by hand, and also try to jump start it with my truck, in case maybe somehow the batteries drained low enough to just get that 'thunk'... *crosses fingers*
