Hello ive just brought a '03 22v riders and the tower wobbles really badly. Now the alan key screws are done up as tight as they can go yet there is still LOADS of movement.I can move it with one hand left and right enough to get a 1-2mill gap inbetween the tower and glass coat.So what i want to know is do the bolts screw directly into a plate in the glass or do they go all the way through to a extremely hard to get to nut on the otherside ? The nut option is going to be a real pain but seens the bolts are as tight into the tower as they can go it seems like thats the problem.I'd just like to know before i have to remove any panels and struggle to get my arm up there only to find there arent any nuts on the other side.i cant believe theres supposed to be that much movement in the tower....yes there are speakers and a minibar on it but i can move it when we're sat still.Any ideas ?

I do not know if the 03's are the same but I have a 04 22i and I had to remove the lower portions of my tower to run wires. There is a plate that is tapped that is glassed into the deck. When I removed the tower bolts the plate went nowhere. When I put the bolts back in they went right in with no problem.I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

Yes, tige glasses in an aluminum plate where the tower bolts, it is about 1/2" thick. Sometimes the aluminum plate is tapped and the tower bolts threaded directly into the plate, however I prefer to drill it clean and use a nut (with a nylon locker) on the inside of the boat. On the 22 / 24V series, if you are a thin guy, you can slide all the way up the storage locker from the rear, and get to the bolts without removing the side panels.
Or, if you have any teenage kids, make them climb in there to do it!
