The only boats I know of that are left in the water indefinitely are boats that are too big to be on a lift or trailer.

If you are so cheap that you cant properly take care of a $50k+ then you shouldnt be owning one.

Agree With Your Replies...let me clarify

I agree I misspoke by implying that other manufacturers did not ever have had similar issues which obviously would not show up on this forum. I also agree the boat lift would eliminate the need to trailer the boat to get it out of the water (it would be a terrific thing if they were allowed on my lake - oh well).

The point I did not make clearly is the research I have done on this topic proves manufacturers noted previously have either fixed or attempted to work the their owners in an effort to resolve the problem. This could range from someone to call who is either authorized to make these repairs or simply has a good reputation of fixing these kinds of issues, to ways to deal with the problem, all of which would go beyond the "read your manual" (have a nice life) statement.

My neighbor alerted Mastercraft to a bubbling problem on his boat several years ago. Mastercraft jumped on the problem, removed the boat from the water, trailered it to their manufacturing facilities, re-gelcoated and returned in perfect condition - no questions asked. I don't expect with the state of our economy and boat manufacturers financial challenges that most of the manufacturers wouldn't handle things a bit differently. However good customer services is not "read the manual" and you are on your own. Good luck figuring out what to do just really leaves a terrible taste in my mouth. Now I'm off trying to find some kind of solution on my own. Not fun.

Your lake allows boats to remain in the water indefinitely, but forbids boat lifts? Why?

maybe an "epoxy paint formulated for blister protection" as directed by Nautique should be added to the Tige Manual to make people aware that there is hidden issues with leaving a boat in the water.

I have a hard time beieving that Mastercraft came and got a boat with a blistering problem from being left in the water and fixed it. The boats that are left in the water for long periods of time usually are bottom painted. If they are not bottom painted they have blisters, you just don't know it because the boat is still in the water. This realy makes me mad that you jump on this forum and bad mouth Tige when you obviously have not done any research on this.

I guess you are right. Obviously the truck that came and pulled the Mastercraft out of the water and returned it after they had repaired it, wasn't really gone and I really was skiing behind that boat it during that timeframe. And here I was certain I didn't ski behind that boat those weekends but obviously I just dreamed that the boat was gone and was repaired.

The day you get the level of support from Tige' that I received perhaps you may have a different definition for what "bad mouthing" is... Good luck with that.

I just don't get it. You screwed up and think Tige should fix it for you. If Mastercraft did pick that boat up and fix it there is more to that story. I for one second don't believe that they repaired a boat that got blisters from being left in the water too long. If you want a boat that won't blister, go buy a pontoon.
