My accu-set will hold a set speed but the buttons to increase or decrease speed do not work. I checked connections un plugged and reconnected panel etc. What are my options other than getting a new speed-set panel from Tige'? My engine is the Marine power 340 TBW. Thanks

Matt, Thanks, can you explain how my ECM partially lost the ability to respond to the panel? Did you see other cases where speed up down feature quit working?
The folks at Tige say it more than likely is the panel and for $600 they will send me a new one.
My dilemma is I am two hours away from a Tige dealer with a good service department.
If I have to reflash the ECM and everything works that would be great, but why did the ECM lose the coding?
If it is the panel on a boat with 84 hrs then is this part prone to failure and I will be throwing money at this part in a few more years.
Should I just break down and buy perfect pass and have the ECM flashed for that?
Any additional details you can provide is greatly appreciated.

I should say that I have Speed Set which I believe is the next years model of the Accu set. I had a similar problem. When the speed set was turned on and while moving I couldn't set the speed to engage. I had to stop, and dial in the speed I wanted then it would work. The factory "flashed" the ECM and it works again, I did not have to replace the panel.
I can't explain why your ECM lost the ability to respond. The flashing of the ECM is just a guess, I really don't know if that would work but would be worth a try.

Tige' Accuset
Latest update. I talked with the folks at Marine Power and they highly doubt that the ECM has any issues. They hinted at push buttons on the panel and that TIGE has had numerous problems with the panel.
I sent my ECM to them yesterday and they will re-flash it. There has been a number of changes to the ECM coding since 2006 and even if the problem remains, I will benefit from the ECM update.
Once I get it back I will see if problem is fixed. If not I have the option of getting the TIGE' speed set panel or shifting over to Perfect Pass. That decision is based on cost and reliability.
I have been happy with Accu-set and how it functions, we are novice boarders so I don't know if we would see a benefit in Perfect Pass.

My gut says that the control head is toast and will need to be replaced. The 07 Speed-Set is a plug'n play change out. It actually works better, just no LED to let you know it's set. My Speedset before it was flashed surged up and down about 3 mph in either direction.That was what the flash of my ECM fixed but I would venture to guess that it cover other issues.
A feature I don't like on it that if you give it total speed authority when SpeedSet is used. I would pre-set it but not engage until I had skier or boarder up and close to their typical speed and enable SpeedSet from there.. Marine power is going to flash the ECM (My service guy could not get to it for a couple of weeks). Marine Power said they would turn it around quickly.
Some interesting info, Any service Tech with the diagnostic software bundle for marine engines has the ability to flash the ECM. However, Marine Power will not send the updates Via e-mail to just anyone. They are selective over who is allowed to do what to the ECM.
Also they were dumped by TIGE and are a little bitter over how that happened so don't expect them to bend over backward to accommodate TIGE customers (they used to bend the rules about warranty issues).
Not saying they won't cover warranty, just wont go above and beyond the warranty.
Another note, TIGE seems to have a hard line attitude about parts. They quoted me $600 to replace my panel on a boat with 83 HRS and is 4 months off warranty. It used to be they would replace at cost without paying labor. I guess boat sales are tough so no breaks for customers off warranty.
Having said all that, Marine Power is taking care of me so I will soon know what my problem is. I will update when I know more.

^^^ Ask Marine Power if they have the capability of putting in a Catalytic Converter into their engines. That one would be interesting for them to answer. PCM, from my understanding, has done more testing of these converters. I don't think MP can put the converter into their engines easy enough since they haven't tested them.
I could to wrong but this is why I thought Tige moved to PCM.
