    Why dual oil filters?

Why dual oil filters on MP 6.0L

    Seems a bit much.

Why does Tige boast 420 horsepower, and the MFG says 364 hp?

    Who's kidding who?

    - What's wrong, cant afford a 2nd filter?

    Seems a bit much
. - yeah, so does a 10x10 bimini that can withstand a 60mph power turn

That engine was advertised as 400hp by Tige, your info is wrong as usual.

    Who's kidding who?

Go over to Tools-R-Us.com and ask your question. I am sure those people would understand you better. We don't know anything here on Tigeowners and don't claim to be experts at anything.

Better yet, since you live at the Green Arrow on this link: Link

Location A would be the best choice to get your question answered.

BTW, I answered your question If we knew, we wouldn't tell you anyways.

Or if you are at work, you can head to another location. Location A is only 1.8 miles from your place of work.

          Hope that helps you out.

The reason a 6.0 comes with 2 filters is to disapate some extra heat from the oil, in 2004 the 6.0 was 375hp, 2005 380, 2006 400, 2009 409, hp is really of little value as a measurement for boat performance, torque is key, 5.7 is 4.05 bore by 3.48 stroke about 380 ft lbs torque, 6.o is 4.05 by 3.62 aprox 420 ft lbs, Indmars 6.2 HH stroker motor is 4.05 by 4.00 aprox. 450 and up on torque. With engines the only thing that beats cubic inches is cubic dollars, as you increase stroke you gain torque , but it is a fine line on durabilty if you turn high rpms.

Thanks Dom. The question was a genuine concern. People ask what's the horsepower all the time, and I really don't know the correct answer. As for dual oil filters, it's pure curiosity. Sounds like oil temp has been a concern? Factory says SAE40, what do you put in? What about a oil cooler? Would it be a good idea?

Also, any suggestion what to do with my old transom lights? Are they worth anything? There just the 4 LED Sea Blaze model.

                  Dave,

The least you could do is make a reference to the nearest "Tige" dealer. Are you still unemployed?
Or did you find any work yet?

The 6.0 engine was an emission clean motor by design thus more heat produced which played hell on the marine industry with fuel purculation problems which my ski team boat experineced , and we modified the cooling system and currently have 900 grueling hours. As to an oil cooler I dont see the need , I use 15w 40 sysnthetic blend and change every 50hrs or 6 months.
My team boat pulls 7 men off the dock on a single ski to 5000 rpm where they step and barefoot 42mph, 3 to 5 man jump team at 33 mph, and 12 girl ballet line at 16 mph, and its been doing that with no problems for 5 years.

I bet people ask you questions about "Tim's" boat all the time and you can answer any of them except how much you paid. Then again I bet you said you paid more then you really did.

No one cares about HP is in a wakeboat or what the top speed is for that matter!!!!

I don't think anyone has ever asked me about how much HP our boat has.
