1999 21v does some serious porpoising

at high speeds with relatively smooth water, the bow will start bouncing up and down like crazy. Sometimes to the point of getting a little frightening. It seems to be started by a wave but once it starts it intensifies until you back off the throttle. My tapps is not working and stuck in full up position. im thinking not being able to force the bow down with the tapps maybe contributing to the problem. Any body have any ideas?
Son, life is mostly scars and souvenirs.

TAPS on a Tige has much the same effect as trimming an I/O. So, with the plate all the way up will allow the bow to porpoise at higher speeds.

Until you get the taps fixed it will porpois. Ounce you get that fixed you will be able to run at tops speed with any issues.

        Add weight to the bow

Well, getting the TAPS to work would definitely be better.

When I purchased my boat the taps was not working and the previous owner had pushed the plate down just enought to put a bolt in between the clynder and the plate thus holding the plate down a little bit to keep the bow from propising. The bolts were approximately 1 to 1.5 inches in lenght.

Just an idea if you want to try it until you get your taps fixed.
