    2005 24V Speedometer hand inoperative

Hello everyone, I have a 2005 Tige 24V with Faria gauges. While boating yesterday for the first time this season, I noticed the speedometer hand was inoperative. I checked the paddlewheel at the transducer while the boat was in the water, however, found nothing impeding the flow of the single paddlewheel. All functionality within the gauge – depth, alarms, miles, log etc… are operational. The speed pointer hand is the only issue.

I checked the wires from the Speedo that are spliced into the perfect pass and they appear to be solid connections. No issues with the Perfect Pass in RPM mode either. I did not think to run the perfect pass in Speedo mode while on the water which may have helped me troubleshoot the problem. Now that the boat is home, I would like to check the transducer while the boat is on the trailer by simply spinning the paddlewheel with light compressed air and measuring the ohms at the harness connector (HN0353). Anyone else ever experienced this issue or has troubleshot a bad transducer? Am I going down the right path?

My guess is the paddle wheel is for perfect pass and you have another tube-like speedo pickup on the back of the boat, which is clogged.

On my 2005 24V depending on how it sits on the trailer the bunks will make it "unclick" and I can lose speedo. All I have to do when it happens is push it down until it clicks into place completing the connection I guess and I'm back in business. My paddlewheel is on the rear starboard side if that helps.

The transducer paddle wheel assembly appears to use electrical wires to transmit the resistance to the gauge versus the vacuum hose. Good solution for vacuum style guages. I did inspect the assembly and it is snapped in place. I too have had the assembly out of position before. Thanks for the feedback tips. Open to ideas.
