    Engine Hours

I just bought an '02 Tige 21iR with around 230 hours on it. I actually never checked the hours before I bought (stupid mehttp://tigeowners.com/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif)but the first time I got it on the water I noticed the engine hours were showing like 1.5...??? I checked with the former owner about it and he had no ideas. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

    Thanks

The engine hours are stored in both the engine's ECM and in the Faria gauge. The gauges are known to reset sometimes in a very low voltage condition, such as starting the engine with a weal battery, etc.

Congrats and welcome to the forum!

Thanks! It's great to be a part of the forum!

Hmmm....that's pretty wierd! I don't know of any low battery situations...?? Is there any way to get it back to where it should be?
It's kinda bad having a situation where you don't know the actual hours.

If you know the correct wire into the gauge, you can apply 12V to it and it will begin to count up.
