I have a 99 tige' 21v riders edition and I am having problems with the TAPS.
When I use the switch in the down position the gauge drops but when I use the up it does not drop. The relay will click in either the up or down using the switch. I could hot wire the Bennet pump at the back to make the plate go up, it was stuck in the down position. I did not try the down since we mostly only surf no need to put it down until I get it fixed.
I am assuming I need a relay and the dealer says it is $128 so I really want to know if that is truly it before I fork out that much dough for a stinking relay.
Can anyone confirm that I need a relay? Is there a cheaper option available?
side note: I was able to buy a serpentine belt from NAPA for $55 and the Mercruiser dealer wanted soemthing like $120.
