New 12" Alpine subwoofer

We just won a 12" Alpine Type-R subwoofer at the Tige Regatta at parker and we were just wondering if any of you that do have subs in your boat know of any place to install it to get the best out of it?

Mine's installed under the cockpit by the driver's legs. It seems to do a good job there.

I have type-r tens in my boat i have one in a custom box under the dash on the drivers side, it works great there plenty of bass. I also have one in the storage compartment on the passenger side. For that sub you need to get a big mono channel amp. I wouldnt use anything less than 500 watts rms for it to be loud and clear. Find a good stereo installer to build a box for under the dash and then instead of carpeting the outside get the box line-xed that way it is impervious to moisture.
