Sony Transom Radio Control Replacement

Our dealer, Tige in Corona, Calif has been good about replaceing the Sony remote radio control mounted on our transom.

I forgot to mention it on our last visit, but it's failed again and I'm wondering if Sony has finally perfected it.

It's been replaced several times.

Or is their a replacement unit that it can be used, or has Sony fixed the failure problems?
Anyone know?

I have talked to a representative who got on the phone while I was talking to him. He said he just talked to guys in R&D and they had no idea there was a problem. That was not the answer I was hoping for. Mine stopped working 2nd time we had the boat in the water. I talked to the guys in Crown Town and they said they would replace it and that the problem had been figured out at the factory.

Mine has gone out once after the warranty was past. However, you can go online and contact the Sony warranty claims in Laredo, Tx. and they will send you a refurbished unit in exchange for your old one.
