I got 7 years out of the battery on my sea doo, w/mercury v6.
Haven't had the Tige more than a yr yet, but the batter is at least a few yrs old and going strong.
Disconnect it in the winter and charge it every month or 2. Don't store it on a cold concrete floor. Keep it in your basement or someplace warm, extreme cold can kill a battery.
I'm no expert but this is what I've been told.....

For most poeple, just keeping it charged (above 12v) will keep it from freezing. If your area will have sustained temps below freezing, I would recommend removing the battery(s) and storing them where they will not be out in those temps. About an hour charge once a month will do the trick.
*WARNING* DO NOT charge a battery indoors - garage, basement, etc or any place where there might be an ignition source. A batter will produce a flammable gas while charging.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

my parents next door neighbor's cat likes to call our tige's interior home sometimes. so it climbs up under the cover and lays on the dash of all places. every so often when i'm over there i'll walk by and hear the radio, blower, bilge pump, or see the lights on. usually when i swing by i'm able to get to it in time. needless to say i've had it dead more than a few times when i wasn't living nearby.

It's a small charger that is mounted in the boat and wired to you battery(s) (some are capable of maintaining multiple batteries or banks) and is plugged up to A/C when the boat is not in use. The Tender will keep the battery (batteries or banks) topped off as needed.
I know a couple of guys on here are using the Xantrex 20+ TrueCharger. http://www.boatersworld.com/product/...ttery-chargers I'm sure you can find it cheaper, just did a quick google for a picLast edited by chpthril; 12-02-2007, 02:18 PM.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

so has anybody made or know of where to get a switch panel cover? that f'ing cat (pardon my french) previously mentioned just killed my 150 dollar exide orbital deep cycle!!!! here's my options... make/buy a switch cover, disconnect the battery after every outing and pray nobody forgets to retune the stereo settings which would inevitably ruin $1000 in stereo equipment, or find someone who can convince my dad that a boat cover is worth the money and to stop putting tarps that don't protect anything over the friggin' boat. so you see my dilemma? k i'm done ranting.
