    Gas Gauge

I just replaced all of my instruments on my boat. The Gas gauge is reading backwards. When the tank is full it shows empty on the gauge. When the tank is empty it shows full. I made sure my wires are connected right. I used OEM parts. I called the manufacture and they said the sending unit in my tank is backwards. I asked how that could be when all I did was replace the gauge. I did not get an answer. Also, when I was out late on the water the gauges started to fog up, Why?

Temp changes cause the fog, as far as the gauge????

havnt ever seen that before... Usually your gauges fog up after rains because water can seep in there and fog it up usually or like spharis said, Temp Changes. But good luck

I have a 1997 2150i and need to replace the gas gauge. I am trying to find out what the ohm range is. Trying to replace the VDO gauge. What did you get for your boat?

        Thanks!

          Not a VDO for sure.

I went with Faria Chesapeake line in white face with stainless trim.

What about the OHM range for the sending unit?

Is your unit bad? Most instruments are going to be plug and play to the unit that is already in the tank. From what I researched there are only 2 ranges. One is for gallons, and one is for liters. The standard/American gauge is 240-33 ohms. Metric is a different range.

The bezzle broke off and I need to order a new gauge. When I called egauges, they told me I needed the Ohm range before I could order one.

What gauge are you ordering? A VDO? I know for a fact that the Faria instruments are a plug and play if you get the standard one.
