2008 Tige RZ4 / 470 hours - had no data to my display, nothing. No gas gauge, no engine monitoring data, no speedset, no taps signal, zilch!
Found bad ground wire at plastic quick connect (grey wire).
To aid my troubleshooting, I disconnected the speedset, and reconnected from underneath the dash.
Then turned on the running lights. When I played with the white quick connect, the speedset would illuminate. Thus helping me identify the bad connection. This is because the speedset is on the same data circuit.
A quick look inside the connector showed my one pin that was corroded.
That had to be it!
After a little more troubleshooting, I learned the grey wire was ground (negative)
I simply bypassed the grey wire (as shown below) going through the white plastic disconnect.
A lot of people will assume its the Medallion unit, buy a replacement only to learn its not the medallion unit.
The electronic black box is the data collection unit mounted to the forward wall.
I hope this saves someone else a boat load of time
Here are some pictures to aid you in what to look for.
