08 RZ4 - Cruise Control and LCD not working

Hi Guys,

Recently had my RZ4 in to have a little mechanical and upholstery work done on it, and now that it's back the center LCD on the dash isn't working, nor is the cruise control. Both were working before taking it in.

I've checked the pins for voltages at the back of the LCD, and 3 of the 5 gave readings.

The other 2 smaller LCDs at the base of the Tacho and Speedo are still working, a pic is here.

For the cruise control I'm not even able to get the light on the switch to turn on anymore.

I'd take it back to the guys to fix - but honestly after seeing the "quality" of some of the work I don't want them near it!

Any ideas where to start looking?

Also found this plug hanging loose down the back near the engine. Any clues?

The plug hanging down by the engine is a diagnostic port. Tie it up.

From what I remember the power to the center screen comes from the gauge harness which plugs into the little black box under the dash. Seems to me like a severed connection. Check continuity from the plugs' wires at the screen to the black box. Be sure none are broken.

I believe the cruise switch gives the system ground so it should have its own power wire going to it for the light. Its been way too long and I wish I could help you more.

Unfortunately it sounds just like when the computer under the helm went out on my 08 RZ4. No warning, no obvious cause, it worked one day and not the next. I believe it was about $400 from the Tige dealer. Took 5 minutes to replace. Hopefully this is not your problem but the symptoms are exactly the same.
