I have not been able to resolve. I am going to have to start replacing parts to find the problem. First the battcom. Next the battery switch. Going to be a winter project likely....
Engine off: do you read battery positive voltage on both the large battery cables? Yes, proceed. No, charge battery, fix cable or terminal issue.
Yes: do you read battery negative/zero volts on the small control ground wire? Yes, proceed. No, repair wire, replace fuse or relocate to ground terminal of battery
Yes: start engine. Do you read alternator voltage on both large battery cables? This would be a voltage higher than the battery voltage read prior. Yes, proceed.
No: Do you still have ground voltage on the small control ground wire? Yes, proceed. No, ACR is bad
Yes: do you read alternator charge voltage on one of the large cables? Yes, which one? No, check at other end of cable.
Yes: if its the cable on the main cranking side of battery switch and the control ground wire is still good, then the ACR is bad.
No: bad cable feeding the ACR.
