what are these wires? and should I hook them back up?

Hi Guys,
first time boat owner so I'm just getting into the swing of things.

In my engine compartment, Ive found a bunch of wires that are disconnected. Im not sure if they are supposed to be disconnected, or if they came undone.





Does anybody know what these are, and what they are supposed to do, or why they are separated?

I have been having some issues with the speed set, and I don't think its the transducer or the speedset panel, could this be the issue?

They are extra wires, just leave them alone.

if your speedo works and the speedset doesn't it's probably the speedset buttons, there's a long thread about repairing it on here :-)

Agree. Unless something is broken, don't worry about them. Engine wiring harnesses usually have all sorts of extra wires and connectors in them to support options, sensors, dual engine sync, you name it. Having a single shared harness keeps their inventory simple but doesn't mean you have to use every connection.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

thanks guys, took the boat out for the last 2 days and everything (except speed set) is working good. I will leave those wires alone!
