Does Clarion M505 work with MR301RC Remote?

Does anyone know if the new Clarion M505 HU is compatible with the old MR301RC wired remote. This is the factory installed remote for the Clarion XMD3 HU. The clarion website only lists the new remotes as compatible but just curious if anyone as actually tried it or is a dealer and knows more than the website. I would like to upgrade my Clarion XMD3 but if i have to buy a new remote then I will broaden my shopping to a different brand.

They are technically not compatible.
